Here are some pictures taken some time in the mid 80's of the
Nike Control/Administration Area that was near Marine, Illinois along route 4.
WARNING
The platforms on the towers were verry rusty when thease pictures were taken and would be
verry dangerous or deadly if they were still standing today. If other Nike sites were vandalized
like this one there could be open manhole covers open pits or other hazards concealed by weeds
and brush. It is best to view old Nike sites from a respectfull distance to stay out of trouble.
Almost all traces of the Control/IFC area have been removed. About all that remains today is the parking lot that was outside of the perimeter fence.
